Gardening supplies FAQs
I’m new to gardening. What do I need to get started up?
Just as the Sistine Chapel wasn’t painted in one day, neither
will your garden look great after one day. It is going to take some
patience. Some of the most important items you will need are a small
and a large shovel, a lawn mower, hedge clippers, seeds, top soil, fertilizer,
and a little perseverance. If you have all of these things, you are
well on your way to being a great gardener.
What kinds of fruits and vegetables should I grow in my garden?
The answer to this question depends on what kind of climate you live
in, but there are some fruits and vegetables that grow well anywhere.
Some of the items that seem to grow well in a lot of different climates
and terrains are cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans,
carrots and peas. As far as fruit goes, it is a bit harder to harvest
since it typically grows on trees, but it may be possible to grow things
like pears, peaches and apples if you have enough space for trees in
your garden area. For region-specific plants, consult an almanac or
your local garden center.
I’m looking for some nice garden accessories, what should
I get?
Working in a garden can entail a lot of hard work, but this work can
get even harder if you do not have the right kinds of tools and accessories.
There are obviously a variety of items that you can use, but for starting
out you might want to acquire some of the following items: small wooden
bridges, garden swings, benches for the garden, lighting that runs throughout
the garden area (solar lighting uses very little wiring and generates
its own energy) or decorative stones.
